The Crawl Route 🧭

Check in with us between 11 AM–12 PM to grab your passport and swag, then follow the curated route at your own pace! Explore, shop, grab coffee or tea, collect your stamps and meet us at the final stop at 2:30 PM.

Your Explorer Pass includes the full CharLit Crawl experience, official CharLit Passport, passport stamps, standard swag bag, reader perks and door prize entry. First Class includes everything in Explorer, plus an exclusive CharLit Crawl tee and upgraded swag bag.

Both passes include the same CharLit Crawl route and experience. First Class is your upgraded package and includes an exclusive CharLit Crawl tee plus upgraded swag and perks. There is no separate or priority route/access.

Yes. Each participant age 13+ needs their own Crawl Pass to participate in the official CharLit Crawl experience, including receiving a passport, collecting stamps, accessing crawler perks, receiving swag and entering the door prize. Children 12 & under may accompany a registered adult for free but will not receive crawl materials or inclusions.

CharLit Crawl is family-friendly and all ages are welcome!

Anyone 13+ participating in the CharLit Crawl must have their own Crawl Pass. Children 12 & under are welcome to accompany a registered adult at no additional cost.

Complimentary child guests will not receive a CharLit Passport, passport stamps, swag, reader perks or door-prize entry.

No! CharLit Crawl is open to everyone. Bring your partner, your friends, your family, or come solo and spend the day exploring with fellow readers.

Absolutely. Come solo, bring your book bestie, or bring the whole crew. Other Lit Escape readers will be crawling alongside you throughout the day, so coming alone is completely welcome.

Nope! CharLit Crawl is intentionally self-guided. You’ll check in with Lit Escape, receive your passport and route, then explore at your own pace before meeting back up with us at the final stop. You’ll see fellow crawlers along the way, but you don’t have to travel as one giant group.

No. CharLit Crawl is a self-guided experience, and crawlers are responsible for transportation between locations. This gives you the freedom to move at your own pace and spend as much time as you’d like at each stop.

No! Check-in is open from 11 AM–12 PM, so you have a little flexibility. Just make sure you check in before heading out on the crawl so you can grab your passport and swag.

Nope! That’s part of the fun. Once you’ve checked in, explore at your own pace. The only scheduled meetup is our final stop at 2:30 PM.

Yes! CharLit Crawl takes place at local businesses that may remain open to the public throughout the day. Your Crawl Pass gives you access to the official Lit Escape crawl experience, passport, stamps, swag, crawler perks and other included activities—not private access to each location.

No. Purchases made at participating businesses are separate from your CharLit Crawl Pass unless specifically listed as an included perk.

CharLit Crawl is a rain or shine event! Our participating stops are primarily indoors, so throw an umbrella in the car and get ready to crawl. In the event of dangerous or unsafe weather conditions, we’ll communicate any necessary updates directly to registered crawlers.

Crawl Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you purchase a First Class Pass and are unable to attend, your exclusive CharLit Crawl tee and upgraded swag bag will still be yours! Pickup arrangements will be coordinated after the event. Explorer Pass inclusions are only available during the event and cannot be picked up at a later date.

No. Crawl Passes are non-transferable and may only be used by the person registered at checkout.

Nope! Shopping, coffee, tea and other purchases along the route are completely optional and are not included in your Crawl Pass unless specifically noted as a crawler perk. Browse a little, shop a lot — it’s up to you.

Detailed parking information will be emailed to registered crawlers before the event.

Your phone, comfortable shoes, a tote bag for your inevitable book haul 😂, and anything you need for the weather. We’ll provide your CharLit Passport and crawl materials at check-in.

Check-in is available from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM only. Because CharLit Crawl is self-guided and our team will be moving on to the next portion of the event, late check-in will not be available. Please plan accordingly so you have plenty of time to check in, grab your passport and begin your crawl!

Food and beverages are not included with your Crawl Pass unless specifically listed as a crawler perk. You’re welcome (and encouraged!) to grab coffee, tea, lunch, snacks, or whatever else catches your eye along the route.

Your participating stops will be shared ahead of time, but your official CharLit Passport at check-in will be your guide for the crawl. Registered crawlers will also receive an event email with important arrival, parking, and day-of information before the event.

Yes, photo/video content may be captured for Lit Escape marketing and social media.
